Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sudoku Launchpad website, web application, and Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service") operated by Sudoku Launchpad ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Using the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. What the Service Does

Sudoku Launchpad syncs puzzle progress data from SudokuPad to our servers via the Chrome extension. This allows you to track your solve history and view move-by-move replays. The Service depends on SudokuPad's data format and availability, which we do not control.

The Service also allows you to connect third-party accounts (such as Patreon) to verify your subscriptions to puzzle creators. When you connect a third-party account, we access your membership data to grant you access to patron-exclusive content. We periodically re-verify your membership status and may revoke access if your subscription lapses.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of any data you provide to the Service, including your puzzle progress and account information. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated means to access the Service beyond its intended functionality

5. Third-Party Services

The Service interacts with third-party services including SudokuPad, Google (for authentication), and Patreon (for authentication and subscription verification). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

By connecting your Patreon account, you authorize us to access your membership information and to periodically re-check your membership status using stored credentials. You may disconnect your Patreon account at any time from your profile settings.

6. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, but sections that by their nature should survive (such as limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sudoku Launchpad shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
