Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Sudoku Launchpad ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Sudoku Launchpad website (sudokulaunchpad.com), the Sudoku Launchpad web application (app.sudokulaunchpad.com), and the Sudoku Launchpad Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service").
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile information provided by Google. If you sign in with Patreon, we collect your email address and Patreon user ID. If you sign in with email and password, we store a securely hashed version of your password.
Puzzle data. The Chrome extension reads puzzle progress data from sudokupad.app localStorage, including puzzle identifiers, solve times, completion status, and move history. This data is synced to our servers so you can access it across devices and view replays.
Patreon membership data. If you connect your Patreon account, we collect your membership information including campaign names, patron status, entitled tiers, pledge amounts, and last charge status. This data is used to verify your subscriptions and grant access to patron-exclusive content. We store a Patreon OAuth refresh token to periodically re-verify your membership status.
Authentication tokens. We store a session token locally in Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local) to keep you signed in. This token is sent with API requests to authenticate you.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To authenticate your identity and manage your account
- To sync and store your puzzle progress and replay data
- To display your solve history and replay information
- To verify your Patreon memberships and grant access to patron-exclusive content
- To periodically re-verify your subscription status using stored OAuth tokens
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is only used to provide the Service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Google API Disclosure
The Sudoku Launchpad Chrome extension uses the Google Identity API solely to authenticate your Google account and retrieve your email address and profile name. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties.
Patreon API Disclosure
When you connect your Patreon account, we use the Patreon OAuth2 API to access your identity and membership information. We request only the identity and identity.memberships scopes — the minimum required to verify your subscriptions. We store an OAuth refresh token to periodically check your membership status. We do not access your payment methods, make changes to your Patreon account, or post on your behalf. You can disconnect your Patreon account at any time from your profile settings, which will delete the stored refresh token.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secured servers. We use HTTPS for all data transmission between the extension, the web application, and our API. Session tokens are stored locally on your device and are not accessible to other extensions or websites. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Data Retention
We retain your account and puzzle data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email address below.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view your puzzle data within the Service at any time.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Portability: You can request an export of your data.
